George Dalls MP - Workers Union
George DallasLondon Organiser of the Workers Union
Born 6th August 1878 in Glasgow Scotland In his youth George Dallas was a miner, later he moved to London to work for a coal merchant, He returned to Scotland and became Secretary of the Independent Labour Party (ILP) in Scotland between 1908 and 1912
In 1912 he took a job with the National Federation of women workers (union) in London but soon moved to become the London organiser of the Workers Union. He contested Maldon in Essex in 1918 and 1922 and Roxburgh & Selkirk in 1923 and was briefly Member of Parliament for Wellingborough in the Midlands
He moved to Welyn Garden City in 1922
Died 4th January 1961
