1920 First International Football Match - Moscow V British-American
Moscow V British-American Communist's
In 1920 the first football match after the 1917 Revolution was played between a British-American team and a Moscow team. Despite the British-American boasting John Reed (author of ten days that shock the world), Jack Tanner, Tom Quelch and Willie Gallacher in goal the Soviets ran out winners by 11-1.
Willie Gallacher who was in goal for the first half let in six, but scored his teams solitary goal in the second half
