WEST LONDON BRUNEL POLL TAX CONFERENCE 14th May 1989
The Hillingdon Labour and Trades Union movement is holding a major West London
Conference on the Poll Tax on Sunday 14th May 1989.
The intention of this Conference is to inform people of the implications of this horrendioustax. The morning session will include speakers outlining the Scottish experience on the introduction of the Poll Tax,and the afternoon discussion will be on the affects of Poll Tax on London and the creation of a united Labour,Trade Union and Community approach to the Poll Tax.
Speakers include Ms J.Mckay (Scottish TUC), Ron Brown (Scottish MP), a National Trade Union speaker and Bernie Grant MP.
The Conference arrangements will be designed to enable maximum participation of the delegates attending.
The Conference will be held at Brunel University, Kingston Lane,Uxbridge,Middlesex, commencing at 10.30am and concluding at 5-pm with a one hour break for lunch (the cost of which is included in the delegate fee.) A cash bar will also be available.
The delegate fee is £6 per person and £3 for OAPs. Creche facilities will be available.
Delegates are being invited from all sections of the Labour and Trade Union movement along with representatives from Pensioners organisations. Churches and other Community Groups.
